| PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE |
More than 40% of New Jersey’s endangered plant and animal species rely on wetlands at some point in their life cycle, and the restoration of this site will help provide these species with habitat that is increasingly at risk due to human encroachment and urban development.
| PROJECT DESCRIPTION |
This project proposes to restore 10.5 acres of marginally productive agricultural land to emergent wetlands and grasslands in Salem County, NJ. Wetlands will be constructed using shallow excavation and small earthen berms to provide for the breeding needs of wood ducks and black ducks along with making more habitat available for amphibians such as the tiger salamander.

| FUNDS NEEDED |
